Losing Weight Without Willpower

Cover2_2 Welcome! Let me tell you a little about who I am and why I wrote "Lose Weight Now . . . Stay Slim Forever."

You see, I've struggled with my weight since I was 13 years old. I wanted to lose weight, but I loved to eat . . .I was constantly spending all of my time and energy trying to find an answer to this problem.

And the harder I tried, the worse it got. I tried 1 diet after another.

I HATED dieting!

The more I attempted to avoid eating something, the more I craved it. It would ALWAYS backfire. Most people who lose weight by dieting regain MORE than what they lost. It was 1 big frustrating cycle . . . and I was FED UP! I felt like I was in a prison, and I wanted my FREEDOM more than anything else. I didn't care how long it took. I was tired of looking for the quick fix. I wanted a REAL solution. Click here to get started.

11 Signs of Emotional Eating

Milk_and_cookies Overeating is emotional by nature. We simply aren't programmed to eat more than our bodies require for no reason.

And we don't keep doing the same thing over and over unless it's serving us in some way.

Emotional eaters eat to soothe negative feelings like stress, boredom, loneliness, anger, anxiety, and/or sadness.

Researchers estimate that 75% of “emotional eating” leads to overeating.

How do you know if you are an emotional eater?

Betty_moore_hafter  Have you ever said something like this?

"I know what I need to do, I just can't seem to do it!"

Or..."Why do I keep feeling the same and behaving the same even though I have all these insights?"

If you've ever had the frustrating experience of feeling stuck or fighting with yourself, maybe it's time to work with your subconscious mind. Deep within you are the feelings, beliefs, habits and patterns that are keeping you where you are. When you begin to intervene on the level of the deeper mind, real change can take place.

Betty Moore-Hafter is a certified hypnotherapist, and uses a unique combination of EFT and hypnotherapy in her work. She has personally trained with Gary Craig, the founder of EFT in Emotional Freedom Techniques, which is where I met Betty – through our interest in EFT.

In this interview, you will learn:

• How to get profound change by programming the subconscious . . .
• How your self talk directs your subconscious . . .
• How to access the subconscious with EFT . . .
• Why “talk therapy” takes so long to do so little . . .
• How to use 90% of your mind, instead of 10% . . .
• Change autopilot behaviors . . .
• Is there a 3-year-old inside running your behavior . . .
• How to have a “reasonable” amount of food . . .
• Train your subconscious to lose weight . . .

Weight_loss_success_solomon  Be inspired! I am!

I had one of the most inspiring people I know interviewed for you – my very own husband. Mark’s idea of exercise used to be going to the gym and sitting around in the comfy chairs they have for the stroke patients. His idea of a good meal used to be 10 tacos for $10 at Taco Bell.

As you and your loved ones may know, it’s very hard to watch a person go up in weight and do damage to their health. I was so relieved when he finally turned it around.

There is so much to be learned from those who have been successful. I am always so curious about “how they did it.” Now you get to hear it in his own words.

In this interview, you will learn:

• How he gained 80 lb. and more importantly, exactly what he did to lose it.
• How metabolic syndrome affects your ability to lose weight.
• How to STOP making excuses and get over the “I hate to exercise” mentality.
• What to tell yourself when you don’t feel like working out.
• How to get moving, no matter how you feel about your body.
• How to try new exercises and make it fun and easy
• His secrets to eliminating bad habits
• How to PLAN your exercise to make sure you follow through
• How to develop your emotional AND physical strength to get healthier
• How to make exercise an experience to look forward to . . .

Eat_for_healthDr. Joel Fuhrman is all about nutrition, science and health. When you don't eat what your body needs, then you become an "eating machine." In his studies, participants lost an average of 53 lb. and not 1 person regained the weight. That's impressive!

In this interview, you will learn:

• How To get rid of food addiction and retrain your tastes gradually.
• How 1 person lost 330 lb. through getting rid of food addiction . . .
• How you can eat a large volume of food and still fuel your body and deaden your appetite . . .
• How your body can heal itself . . .
• Why medicines "sell people out" . . .
• What you should do every Sunday . . .
• How you should end your day . . . deliciously!
• How to retrain your tastes to prefer the taste of healthy food . . .
• Increase energy and add healthy years to your life . . . disease free!

Nonstop_motivationEver wonder how you can stay more consistent in your weight loss efforts? We all know that if we just applied our efforts more consistently, we’d make a lot more progress . . .

What if the secret to losing weight isn’t about losing weight at all?

I don’t know anything that sabotages weight loss more than losing our motivation.

Donna Krech could be called the “Motivation Maven!” She hosts the Fitness Insider for Oprah’s Oxygen Network.

In this interview, you will learn:

• Why you start off with good intentions and lose your resolve . . .
• The keys to staying motivated . . .
• What happens when life takes over (and life will take over) . . .
• Why you are not required to break a habit . . .
• The 1 questions you should ask yourself when you feel that urge to eat
• How to identify which “motivation assassinator is your biggest threat and how to turn it into an asset . . .
• What the 3% of people who keep weight off discovered . . .

Do You Have a Food Addiction?

Our brains are wired to love sweets. Moments after you indulge in sweet treats, your brain's pleasure center releases opiate-like substances.

The same brain chemicals that create narcotic highs also keep you coming back to sugary treats. Beyond the physiological addictive qualities, sweets are highly associated with comfort and pleasure.

For most of us, the problems start in childhood, when we are rewarded with sweets for good behavior, setting up a lifetime association between sugary treats, reward and soothing.

Underlying feelings often drive food cravings as well. My clients will often say "it's easier to stuff my feelings with food than to feel them."

Fitness More Important Than Diet

The 5 components of physical fitness are more important than your weight in protecting your health, according to a study conducted by University of South Carolina researchers and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

This study included 2,600 people over the age of 59 and followed them for 12 years, monitoring their physical fitness, obesity and mortality. Participants were ranked for fitness based on how long they could walk on a treadmill as the incline increased. Online fitness course measures of overweight
included body mass index (bmi), waist circumference and body fat percentage.

Are You Wasting Your Workout?

876867_blog A few weeks ago, I noticed a bit of belly fat that I didn’t used to have. (I’m more of a pear shape.) Needless to say, I didn’t like it one bit!

My jeans were tighter than usual, and I just felt a little pudgy (you know the feeling). I had done some reading about the dangers of abdominal fat, so I decided to do something about it.

I started to focus my workouts on core strength and abdominal work. And I discovered that even though I was attending classes in strength training, I was wasting a lot of my efforts . . . so it wasn’t doing me much good.

I was also feeling like a hamster on the treadmill – getting nowhere fast.

So I decided to step it up!

Food Addiction: Are You Overeating To Self Medicate?

Headache-stress I can’t tell you how many people have protested to me “but, Carol . . . nothing ‘works’ like food!” That is a true sign of food addiction and that you are overeating and using food to self medicate.

You either want to turn off your mind or turn off your feelings. You don’t want to think about the stress . . . or how you feel . . . or what just happened.

You don’t want to think about how much you have to do, how many responsibilities you have . . . or how much pressure and uncertainty you are dealing with. And you certainly don’t want to feel how exhausted, or angry or resentful or scared you feel.

Overeating is an attempt to go numb. As one of my clients says “it’s easier to stuff my feelings than to feel them.”

Maybe you just need a break from having to deal with it all – there’s nothing wrong with that! A short respite from bearing all the ‘weight’ can be a welcome relief. But if you use overeating to give you that respite, then you only make things worse.

I Want To Lose Weight, But I Love To Eat!

Multiple personality Have you ever heard yourself say "I want to lose weight, but . . . "

As a psychologist and coach, I am all for creating awareness -- that's a big part of what we do with our clients. The client SHOULD come away from a session with greater awareness.

But awareness alone is not enough. We all have those areas in our lives where we KNOW what we "should" be doing, and yet, we aren't doing it. I call this the knowing - doing gap.

At the core, this gap exists because different parts inside of us want different things. There may be a part that wants to gobble up everything in sight, and another part that wants to be healthy. Part of us wants to work out every day, and part of us wants to be a slug on the couch. It's endless!

But there are probably a few major parts of us that interfere and sabotage our good intentions on a regular basis. And unless these parts are identified and dealt with effectively, they continue to sabotage us. And you will continue to hear self-talk like "but it was going so well . . . "

Because these parts exist just below the surface of our awareness, it can be hard to keep everything going in the right direction. Your behavior can be affected by your mood and energy levels too. If you feel tired and overwhelmed with your life, it's harder to ward off the part of you that feels you should have a reward for all your hard work, and will keep bugging you until you get it.

These parts exist in all of us. How often have you had "mixed feelings" about something? Part of you feels 1 way, and part another? What you don't want is a civil war inside . . .

ANNOUNCING: I'm teaching a new teleclass to help you identify and manage these different parts using imagery. I've found that to be a really effective way to help reduce the struggle inside, so that you aren't constantly fighting with yourself. And it's going to be a lot of fun!

Why Is Colon Cleansing Getting So Much Attention?

We live in a toxic world; the soil where our food is grown and the air we breathe are both loaded with chemicals, PCBs, pesticides and petrochemicals. Pharmaceutical drugs and processed foods are commonplace. The facts about our hazardous environment can be overwhelming and scary. There is a choice to be made: we can either be intimidated in not promoting better health , or we can take action to protect ourselves.

Colon cleansing can improve digestion, and provide for better elimination, less constipation, gas, bloating and indigestion. You also often have a sense of satisfaction, greater vitality and a desire to choose better foods and develop better eating habits, permanently.

Binge Eater Stops After 16 Years - "The Weight Came Off While I Wasn't Trying"

Dear Carole,

It's taken me a good few weeks to write this email, to even pluck up the courage to begin writing it actually!

I've been receiving your email shots for months now, many months, and they all ring true and they all make perfect sense. I even bought your e-book (amazing by the way) but I've not seemed to be able to put any of it into action. However…

I saw your link for the binge eating conference call, and I bought it. The next Saturday I listened to it. I swear, I am now "cured"!

Top 10 Ways To End Food Cravings

Baby We really don’t know why some people struggle with a powerful sweet tooth and others don’t. But there are a LOT of ways to address it and manage it better. Choose a few strategies from today’s article to try and you will make your journey to your ideal weight a lot easier.

For most of us, the problems start in childhood, when we are rewarded with sweets for good behavior, setting up a lifetime association between sugary treats, reward and celebration.

Cravings can be triggered by stress and hormonal changes as we move into adulthood. Many people report problems starting in adolescence.

Cravings can also be triggered by stress hormones such as epinephrine and cortisol, which provide a quick energy boost. Your body then responds to stress with a craving for sugar.

Research confirms this link. Chronic stress in lab rats produces pleasure-seeking behavior, including eating sugary and high fat foods.

There is nothing wrong with indulging in sweets once in awhile, but if you are reaching for them several times per day, then it wreaks havoc with your blood sugar levels and promotes weight gain.

These spikes and dips affect your mood and are associated with developing Type 2 Diabetes.

Here are some ideas to manage cravings:

Go Ahead - Have That Big Breakfast!

If you skip breakfast to save calories or because you aren’t a “morning person” or you “don’t have time” - think again.

Research now shows that eating a big breakfast actually aids in weight loss. It is quite common for those on crash diets to skip breakfast or substitute it with coffee or tea to speed up weight loss.

Caring About How You Feel

Happiness I was recently interviewing an amazing woman for the Lose Weight Now Audio program, and we began talking about how important it is to care about how you feel, and how your body feels.

How many times have we all heard that tiny voice in our head that urges us to eat by saying "I don't care . . ." It's important to care . . . and it's one of the critical shifts we help people make. If you don't care about how you feel, then what difference does it make?

You deserve to feel good. If you don't care, then there's something very sad and discouraging about that. If you don't care about how you feel, how can you feel good about yourself and your body?

The Downside of Losing Weight

Downside What’s your downside of losing weight? And don't think you don't have one . . . there's ALWAYS a downside to any goal.

Hmmm . . . it could be any number of things . . . most commonly the fear of having to maintain your weight loss, having to give up the foods you love, or the fear of higher expectations or unwanted attention from others.

It can certainly go deeper than that as well. Once you start digging in this area, you are likely to find something.

Getting Off Sugar

Irresistable_small I do NOT mean that you should never have your favorite treats again. But sugar is definitely an addictive substance. The more you eat, the more you want. The less you eat, the less you want. To me, I don't want ANY substance running me! Period.

For some people, this may mean that you go into "abstinence," but most people do not have to be that extreme. There are ways to cut down, and make it easier. I am definitely into making it "easy" on yourself. White knuckling it never works.

Here are 5 strategies to cut back:
